*Update on Station Road Closures*

Following concerns raised by the Parish Council, the responsible utility provider has reviewed the situation and acknowledged the significant disruption caused to residents, businesses and the wider community. They have confirmed that each closure has been necessary to respond to reported gas issues, where immediate action is required to ensure public safety. The section of gas main in this area has required a number of repairs in recent years, which has led to repeated closures. While these works cannot be scheduled in advance due to their emergency nature, the frequency of the unacceptable disruption has been recognised.
Encouragingly, further investigations are now being explored into whether a more permanent, long-term solution could be developed. This would be a substantial project as a large section of pipes would need replacing and, if progressed, would involve careful planning and communication due to the scale of the works.
We will continue to work closely with all parties involved and will keep residents informed of any significant updates, including advance notice of future disruption wherever possible.
