Last year, the Parish Council took the decision not to increase the precept, resulting in a 0% rise for residents, helping to ease cost of living pressures.
For the coming financial year, rising costs mean that an increase is unfortunately unavoidable due to higher National Insurance contributions and increased green space maintenance costs, among others. That said, the Council has worked carefully to keep the increase as low as possible, while continuing to deliver local services and meet our statutory responsibilities.
As a result, the precept will increase by 4.5% this year. For a Band D household, this equates to roughly £34.46 total for the year for Parish Precept contributions, which will be shown on your Council Tax bill.
We remain fully committed to managing public funds responsibly and delivering value for our community. We also have exciting plans for the Neighbourhood Plan this year, so please keep an eye on our page for upcoming resident questionnaires and public consultations.
