Dear Parishioners of Frindsbury Extra,

The Parish Council extends its warmest wishes to you for a Happy New Year.

As we reflect on 2024, it was a productive year for the Parish Council. We completed significant repairs across all four of our play parks—Coomber Green, Wainscott Recreation Ground, Wainscott Fields, and Schooner Walk. These improvements included new flooring and fencing at Wainscott Fields around the gym and play equipment. Additionally, we were proud to support the Medway Hygiene Bank, a commendable charitable organization assisting local families, and organized a coat collection to support the Medway Children and Family Hub in providing for families in need within our community. Throughout these initiatives, we continued with our regular responsibilities.

However, the year was not without its challenges, as we unfortunately experienced several instances of criminal damage and arson, which required financial resources to address.

Looking ahead to 2025, We are fully aware of the financial difficulties many are facing due to the ongoing cost of living crisis. In response, the Parish Council has carefully reviewed its budget, prioritizing essential projects while placing some on hold to ensure that there will be no increase to your Precept for this year. You will find these figures reflected in your 2025/26 Council Tax Bill.
Even with this decision the Parish Council has an equally ambitious agenda. We plan to hire a new assistant clerk to oversee the development of our Neighbourhood Plan. Furthermore, we will be exploring the acquisition of land to replace the current allotment site, which is both rented and poorly situated. Our goal is to establish a new, fully accessible allotment site, complete with parking, disability-friendly plots, and enhanced accessibility for all.

We wish you all the very best for the New Year and remain committed to serving our community, delivering essential amenities, and representing the interests of all our local residents.

Kind regards,
The Parish Council of Frindsbury Extra
